Different Youth - One Europe

The youth exchange "Different Youth - One Europe" was held in Riga, Latvia from 20 to 24 November 2007.

During the exchange participants visited schools, NGOs and universities, actively communicated with local young people, made interviews and interesting photos, learned their opinion regarding themes of the exchange.
The main themes of discussion were European citizenship, equal opportunities and combating discrimination, cultural diversity as well as education and social life.
During the exchange participants obtained new information and knowledge; received practical skills in researching and photography.
Representatives from Latvian, Lithuanian, Georgian and Ukrainian NGOs have participated in the exchange.
The exchange was supported by EC programme "Youth in Action".

Information project "EU and the Baltic States: integration and participation"

Information project "EU and the Baltic States: integration and participation" was started in summer 2004 and lasted till April 2005. The project was implemented thanks to support of the European Commission.
The project included conducting of seminars, publishing of information booklet about European Union and its dissemination among young people, creation of Internet portal, conducting of discussions and other activities.

Seminar "Latvia in Europe. Europe in Latvia."

The seminar took place on 16-18 November 1996 and was devoted to the International day for Tolerance (16th of November)
Teenagers from 15 to 17 year old from nine countries (Norway, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Israel, South Africa, Canada, USA, Taiwan), for some reason or other living in Latvia (exchange programmes, children of diplomats, etc.), as well as teenagers from Latvia representing “Culture. Tolerance. Friendship.”, took part in the seminar.
The language of the seminar was English. SOROS Foundation-Latvia and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) provided financial support to the seminar.
